Record Turnout for SETWG Congressional Visits Day "Celebrating Science & Engineering" Reception and George E. Brown Awards Ceremony on Capitol Hill
Winner of the 19th Annual George E. Brown Award — the Hon. Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30) — is flanked by ASTRA Executive Director Dr. Robert S. Boege (l) and ASTRA Futurist and Sr. Advisor Dr. Ronnie Lowenstein during Tuesday's gala "Celebrating Science & Engineering Exhibition and Reception" in the Rayburn House Office Building Foyer. A record turnout for the annual event included an estimated 300 Hill staffers, Members of Congress and visiting delegates from 31 SETWg participating organizations attended the event in spite of snow squalls and a hectic legislative schedule. ASTRA serves as co-Chair of the annual event, and estimates that more than 1,150 Congressional visits were made by about 250 participating delegates.
